AWAC Services, member company of Allied World, in conjunction with the American Psychological Association’s preferred insurance partner, American Professional Agency, Inc., will be sharing their valuable risk management educational webinar presentation to TPA Members. This particular webinar will be focusing on navigating the complexities of professional boundaries.
As an Assistant Vice President of the Risk Management Group, Denise provides risk management consulting services to Allied World’s medical professional liability policyholders and the behavioral health program insured psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners and physician assistants. She works directly with policyholders to develop individualized action plans to mitigate potential loss based on their unique exposures and risk management needs. Additionally, Denise assists these clients with ongoing medical educational programs as well as policy and procedure review and development.
Denise is a Registered Nurse with over 30 years of healthcare and professional liability experience. She has extensive risk management, legal nurse consulting, and clinical experience and expertise. Denise earned her diploma in nursing from Baystate School of Nursing, her BSN from UMass Amherst, and her Master of Jurisprudence in Health Law from Loyola University Chicago. Denise is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) and was awarded the designation of Distinguished Fellow of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (DFASHRM).
Denise is a member of the American Society of Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM), currently serves as a member of the Forum Task Force and previously served as member and Chair of the New Member Task Force (NMTF). Denise is a member of the Massachusetts Society for Healthcare Risk Management (MSHRM) and served in the roles of President, Board of Directors, Chair of the Nominating Committee, Chair of the Membership Committee, and Chair of the Programs Committee. Denise also served as a member of the 2022-2024 New England Regional Risk Management Conference Planning Committee.
